yesterday I helped Jan make some Karjalanpiirakka for the first time ever (for the both of us), and we invited some friends to screen three Aki Kaurismaki films as well as have Finnish vodka - it couldn’t have gotten more Finnish (maybe if someone thought of suicide - too soon?). just returned to Toronto with a melancholic feeling, because of the things that are happening at TAMK at the moment.

Shot some film, bought some secondhand shoes, a couple of cool Finnish made pipes, and got this video artists’ DVD of his previous work for free at a gallery (who coincidentally went on exchange at ocad 9 years ago). My best haul is Himona, the thesis exhibition catalogue from TAMK Fine Art 2012-2013. Featured in this catalogue are a few of my really good friends and colleagues and I’m so fucking stoked that I got to see their exhibition and nabbed this memento as well.

my stay in Tampere was great. I can’t wait to see these guys again in two weeks when we’re exhibiting in Seoul.

I’m asking all of my followers/friends/colleagues to reblog and post this and fucking send it to everyone they know because I still can’t believe that this shit is happening and I’m currently still in Finland right in the middle of this crossfire and THIS SHIT IS URGENT.

If you care about art, art education and community you’ll understand why this is so important to not only me but to my friends and colleagues who work for the Fine Art program. There’s no reason for this to happen, and we have to help reverse this stupid decision.
